The programme included a one-day teachers’ orientation programme at Mahima Degree College (Bijapali) with more than 650 elementary teachers from the Lakhanpur block.

Vedanta Aluminium has operated a 2 MTPA aluminium refinery in Lanjigarh since 2007, besides operating an associated 90 MW captive power plant in Lanjigarh, which was built in 2008. Going forward, the company announced plans to invest INR 1,200 crore for the development of the Bauxite mines Lanjigarh and Sijimali area, which will further strengthen the aluminium sector while generating local employment.
